This position is ideal for those seeking a first position post-graduation or looking to bring<br \/>\ntheir knowledge and experience to Northern Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>The Policy Analyst will be responsible for exploring the potential social and economic return on various<br \/>\ntransportation investments in Northwestern Ontario. Specific issues to be explored include a seasonal busbased transportation option to link key tourist attractions into a single marketable product or group of products. Another core project is extending remote runways in the far north of Ontario to reduce food costs, enhance competitiveness, and improve investment attraction.<\/p>\n<p>Solid analytical and writing skills are a must. In addition to descriptive statistics, the placements will be<br \/>\nexpected to assess and explore potential policy implications and apply comparative evidence to support<br \/>\nproposed policy changes, solutions, or directions. University or college students (with some practical<br \/>\nexperience) are preferred. Bilingualism would be an advantage. Multilingualism, or a special knowledge of<br \/>\nNorthern Ontario, would also be assets.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates are asked to provide a one-paragraph statement as to why they applied for the position in this<br \/>\nspecific community.
