Futurpreneur Canada has been fuelling the entrepreneurial passions of enterprising young Canadians since 1996. We’re the only national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentorship and resources to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. More than 16,500 young Canadian entrepreneurs, spanning every province and territory, have successfully launched their business with Futurpreneur’s support. Here’s the opportunity: Coordinator, Loans Portfolio
Reporting to the Manager, Loans Portfolio, the Coordinator, Loans Portfolio will contribute towards an accurate and balanced loan portfolio. You will be a part of the Finance & Loans team and will assist with processing and documenting various loan-related transactions, while adhering to the appropriate internal targets.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Toronto, ON. The incumbent will be working on our hybrid work model (minimum 2 days in the office).
What you will do:
Maintain Integrity of the Loan Portfolio
Prepare files for loan disbursements
Ensure loan advancement by accurately uploading disbursement EFTs
Process auto-debit loan payments as per scheduled due dates
Monitor loans email inbox to process manual re-debits of missed payments arranged by the client support team
Prepare the yearly audit confirmation letters to the auditor and assist with the process as needed
Review and Reconcile Loan Portfolio
On a weekly basis, reconcile all loan transactions in the loans system and upload transactions to the Accounting system for month-end
Work with the Finance team to resolve any discrepancies that come up during the reconciliation
Run system reports periodically to ensure accuracy of loan portfolio
Prepare Monthly/Quarterly Reports for Month-End & Quarter-End
Collaborate with Finance and other teams to provide various Excel-based ad hoc reports using the data in the loans system
Provide support to Director, Finance and Chief Finance Officer relating to loan portfolio reporting
Assist with monthly/quarterly reports relating to disbursements, write-offs, and restructures to inform the Finance and Loans team on how the portfolio is doing while monitoring any related trends
Identify Process and System Improvements
Suggest efficiencies related to workflow within the team
Work with manager on loan system improvements and use feedback from team to identify gaps
Identify reporting needs and collaborate with vendor support team to implement updates as needed
Ad hoc duties as assigned by the manager to help support the Loans and Finance team
What you will have:
Relevant experience may include education with a focus in Finance, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent hands-on career experience
2 years’ experience in loan portfolio or business administration
Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy
Full proficiency in Microsoft Office – Intermediate-level Excel skills, including dynamic spreadsheets and intermediate-level skills with other MS Office software
Demonstrated experience in working with a client relationship management (CRM) system
Demonstrated experience in supporting internal and external client needs
Proven success working proactively both independently and as part of a team
Track record of contributing ideas and implementing process improvements
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, responding to multiple queries and deadlines simultaneously
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Bilingualism in French & English (spoken & written) is an asset
Experience and/or passion for Futurpreneur’s mission and the entrepreneurial ecosystem is an asset.
