Are you a magnetic personality? Northern Policy Institute is seeking a program officer to help identify, support, and connect population growth, retention, and reconciliation efforts throughout Northern Ontario. The position will be based in our Sudbury office but will work with programs in all the regions of Northern Ontario.
This is a two-year contract position. The Magnetic North Program Officer will support the work of the Magnetic North Advisory Committee, a group of community volunteers delivering anti-racism, reconciliation, migrant attraction and settlement and population retention projects. The goal of this position is to strengthen projects in all regions of Northern Ontario by helping them connect with, learn from, and support each other.
Solid management, communications, and organizational skills are a must. The Program Officer will be expected to contribute to project management, monitoring, public reporting, communications, networking, program design and delivery. University or college students with some practical experiences are preferred. Bilingualism would be an advantage. Multilingualism, or a special knowledge of Northern Ontario would also be assets.

NPI values the ability to engage with communities in multiple languages. An increment of $1,500 over and above base salary is available for those who can fluently speak Anishinabemowin, Oji-Cree, Cree, Michif or French as well as English in a professional setting.
