QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.
CPA or CPA, CA designation from an accounting firm, or an industry-trained CPA.
Big Four or a mid-sized accounting firm with audit experience is a strong asset.
5+ years’ audit and/or industry accounting experience; exposure to a multi-site or multi-service company is a strong asset.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities on tight deadlines.
Able to work in a private, entrepreneurial small business and collaborate with an active ownership group.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and specifically Microsoft Excel, with the ability to generate professional-level analyses and output for various audiences.
Experience with accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE), and hands-on accounting systems (e.g. QuickBooks).
Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) and proven team management skills.
A hands-on, organized team player who is also a self-starter and can work autonomously.
Gifted in building strong internal and external relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, and partners.
Believes and models WSF’s Values of Quality, Passion, Integrity, and Accountability.
Skilled in technology with knowledge and experience using and implementing ERP systems.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Wishbone Site Furnishings (WSF) is looking for an analytical and driven CPA who is passionate about innovation and relationship building to join their team as Controller.
Under the direction of the CEO, in alignment with the Mission and Values of the organization, and in accordance with the Strategic Plan, the Controller provides overall leadership, direction, and management to Wishbone Site Furnishings, Wellington Foundry Limited, and 1244923 BC Limited in all areas of the finance function including financial reporting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, and team management. Reporting as part of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will also have two direct reports.
The Controller supports the strategic planning process, fosters a positive team culture, and upholds high standards of conduct and principles to safeguard both the integrity and reputation of the business, while driving continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.

FABRIC & FOUNDRY
We are so fortunate to have a fully functioning foundry! Established over half a century ago, it is one of just a handful of foundries that still exist in Canada and gives us the opportunity to create unique designs traditionally not accessible nor affordable.
It is here, based in Parksville, BC on beautiful Vancouver Island, that all of Wishbone’s products are fabricated with skill and careful attention to detail. All of the components in our products are constructed by a highly skilled team of craftsmen who bring us decades of fabrication experience and expertise.
We use some of the most modern tools and techniques to produce innovative designs that stand the test of time, and offer a wide range of ironwork products, custom fabrication services, and powder coating. From industrial-level design to individually tailored consumer products, our team takes pride in our work and strives to make sure that our customers are happy.
